In this relatively detailed sketch Turner depicts Huy’s Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame with an array of local buildings surrounding it. The Rayonnant rose window in the façade of the larger of the towers is suggested summarily as well as is its pointed arched windows. The view is taken from the north bank of the Meuse and includes the bridge, colloquially known in the Huy dialect as Li Pontia.
