The composition continues across folio 15 recto opposite (D01146; Turner Bequest XXXVII 29). This is apparently a view of Margate, seen from the west. It is the view that confronts modern visitors as they leave the railway station. Turner reconsidered the subject in a watercolour for the Picturesque Views in England and Wales (Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, Coventry),1 engraved by Robert Wallis in 1832.
