As set out in the Introduction, numerous pages in the first third of this sketchbook have had rough watercolour washes applied, which have then been developed into compositions to varying degrees. Here, there seem to be hints of a dim interior with light falling from the top right, and perhaps two or more figures roughly blocked in at the centre.
Verso:
Blank, save for some watercolour offsetting around the edges.
