This sketch (inverted in relation to others in the sketchbook) depicts Dolonne and the downstream side of the Pont de Dolonne, looking across the Val d’Aosta from near Courmayeur, with Mont Crammont to the left, Mont Brise in the centre, and Le Chetif to the right. Turner’s angle of view is approximately 135 degrees.
