Turner Bequest CCCLV 10a
Chalk and pencil on blue wove paper, 70 x 186 mm

Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
Turner has produced the larger of the two drawings with the page turned horizontally. The other small drawing of a cliff is positioned at the top of the page in accordance with the foliation. An emboldened inverted ‘L’ shaped line connected to this first sketch seems to form the headland of another small sketch of a cliff which extends onto folio 11 recto (D35354). The smaller of the two sketches is loosely drawn with blunt pencil to provide the briefest of pictorial notations of a further cliff view.
