Turner has worked across this page and folio 10 recto opposite (D35352) to produce a sketch of the sun setting beyond the shoreline. Soft horizontal bands of smudged pencil and grainy chalk capture the effects of evening light on the clouds and sea. A group of figures are suggested in rough line towards the bottom of the page.
