This was presumably copied from a sketch or watercolour by John Robert Cozens (1752–1797).
Technical notes:
The sheet is faded and discoloured from prolonged exposure.
Verso:
Blank; inscribed by Thomas Girtin in pencil ‘From the Kings palace at Capo de Monte’; also ‘St Martino’ over relevant building on recto; and in a later hand ‘No 28’; stamped in brown ink with Turner Bequest monogram.
