Both the head of the donkey and the pig are drawn twice. The same pig is apparently the subject of studies on a sheet in a private collection; and compare the group of girl and pigs in the finished watercolour of Valle Crucis Abbey (Tate D00703; Turner Bequest XXVIII R).
