This was perhaps drawn in North Wales; see the entry for Tate D00338 (Turner Bequest XXI K). Finberg suggested that the fall shown here was near Nant Mill, not far from Caernarvon. There is no evidence that Turner travelled farther west than Valle Crucis on this tour.1
