Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
The cusped motif is traced from one of a frieze of similar motifs, apparently offset from another surface. There is also a slight sketch of a face in profile, apparently by an amateur hand and inverted relative to the prominent ‘67’.
The recto is D00844 (Turner Bequest XXXI B).
