Folio 11 Recto:
Ankerwycke Priory from Runnymede 1811
D08381
Turner Bequest CXXIII 11
Pencil on white wove writing paper, 75 x 117 mm
Inscribed by Turner in pencil ‘Do’ bottom right
Inscribed twice by John Ruskin in red ink ‘11’ bottom right and bottom left, descending vertically
Stamped in black ‘CXXIII – 11’ bottom left, descending vertically

Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
See the entry for folio 9 verso (D08379), which appears to show the same building. Turner’s inscription, indicating ‘ditto’, presumably refers to his note ‘Anckerwick’ on that drawing.
