Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
Continued on folio 4 (D26265), this is one of three double-page sketches of the waterfall Corra Linn and the natural amphitheatre at its foot; see also folios 2 verso–3 and 4 verso–5 (D26262–D26263; D26266–D26267). The view is from the north-east of the waterfall near the Bonnington Pavillion and depicts the waterfall on the present page, perhaps with the ruins of Corra Castle just visible on the cliffs above. See folio 1 verso (D26260) for more information about his visit to the Falls of Clyde.
