This sketch, along with a very similar one on folio 17 verso (D26775), shows the Three Sisters of Glencoe (ridges of the mountain Bidean nam Bian) looking south-west from the road through Glencoe. At the right of the sketch, running along the north side of the glen, is the Notched Ridge (Aonach Eagach). In the middle distance between the two mountain sides is a dark shape that may represent a figure standing at a turn in the road and looking out at the glen.
See folio 2 (D26750) for further information about Turner’s sketches of Glencoe.
