This page contains two sketches:
i. (main sketch) The west front of the church of Notre Dame at Vitry-le-François from the south-south-west. The viewpoint is now obscured by later buildings. Turner drew the northern entrance to Vitry on the recto (D29052; Turner Bequest CCXCIII 11). There is an architectural detail above right.
ii. (left, drawn with the sketchbook in an upright position) A distant view of a French hilltop town with a citadel, possibly Langres.
