This page contains three sketches:
i. (main sketch) Panorama of Lausanne citadel and Cathedral from the south, taken from the vicinity of the Rue de Bourg, continued to the right from the opposite page (D29061; Turner Bequest CCXCIII 15a). Turner has run out of room for the cathedral, which is directly above the prominent building, and has squeezed it in below (ii).
ii. (bottom left) The spire of Lausanne Cathedral: the continuation above of the main sketch (i) and continued to the right from D29061, opposite
iii (bottom right) Lake Geneva, the south shore looking west from near Vevey, a storm over the lake in the distance and flash of lightning, boats and figures in the foreground. This is the third part of a three-part panorama continued from D29061, opposite. This sketch is inscribed ‘W V Green L’ bottom right.
