Across this page and the next (folio 18; D25672) are sketches of sailing boats just off the coast of a large town with a church. This town has not been identified, though the same church tower (folio 18) may appear in a sketch on folio 25 verso (D25687). The sketches at the foredge of the page were drawn with the sketchbook turned to the right, and the sketches towards the page gutter, drawn with the book inverted, continue on folio 18. For further sketches of shipping in this sketchbook see folio 10 (D25659).
