The principal sketch is a prospect of the Schloss Weesenstein, a castle in the Mueglitz Valley south of Dresden (see Tate D30901–D30916; Turner Bequest CCCVI 9a–17).
Turner has also drawn the tower and spire of the Hofkirche at Dresden, in two instalments at top right (see Tate D30900; Turner Bequest CCCVI 9).
