With the page turned vertically, there are three sketches here, divided by horizontal pencil lines. The top two are annotated all but illegibly, and the bottom one may also include a word or two within the drawing. As Ian Warrell has noted, they all show scenes around Castleton. At the top the view is towards Peveril Castle above the village from the west; in the centre is a view from Mam Tor, west of Castleton, looking north-west along the ridge north of Castleton to Back Tor, Lose Hill and Win Hill; and below is a view from Mam Tor towards the castle.1
