There are pencil flourishes, and pothooks, together with some watercolour stains; the sheet is very dirty. For the dark varnish stain at the top centre see the entry for the recto (D00689; Turner Bequest XXVIII D), a watercolour view of Llanstephan Castle. The verso is not mentioned in Finberg’s 1909 Turner Bequest catalogue.1
