This slight sketch is not mentioned in Finberg’s 1909 Turner Bequest catalogue.1 Turner made a general view of Chirk Castle from a distance on the recto of this sheet (D00332; Turner Bequest XXI F).
The other half of the sheet, torn off, apparently along a ruler or knife, and now unidentified, was also drawn on; fragments of pencil-work are visible along the bottom edge.
