This sketch of mountains may represent the peaks of Glencoe seen across Loch Leven from North Ballachulish.1 The profiles of the mountains, however, are hard to match exactly to those of Glencoe, see folio 4 verso (D26755) for comparison.
Turner made a number of sketches of these mountains as he approached the pass of Glencoe from North Ballachulish, see folio 2 (D26750) for more information and references.
