Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
The inscriptions are upside down relative to the sketchbook’s foliation. There are brown and grey colour trials and smears.
Technical notes:
A 45 mm strip missing from the outer edge of the leaf has been made up in rebinding.
