This cursory sketch of Hamburg was taken from a vantage point at the foot of the Lombardsbrücke (Lombard Bridge), which connects the Neustadt with the Altstadt at either side of the Binnealster. A windmill is visible in the middle distance, and beyond are the spires of St James’s and St Peter’s.
