i. (main sketch) Aosta from the north-east, with the Arch of Augustus to the left and the church of St Ours to the right.
ii. (bottom centre) A thumbnail sketch of Aosta from the north-east. Turner recorded a similar view to this in a watercolour (Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Massachusetts).1
iii. (bottom right) A thumbnail sketch of Aosta from the north-east.
iv (bottom left) The continuation to the right of the thumbnail sketch of Aosta from the north-east at the bottom right of the opposite page (D29057; Turner Bequest CCXCIII 13a).
