A study evidently made at a fairground, and most probably at Wolverhampton; see the finished watercolour, Woolverhampton, Staffordshire (Wolverhampton Art Gallery),1 shown at the Royal Academy in 1796. Other fairground studies in this book are on folios 11 recto, 15 recto and verso, 16 recto, 35 verso (D00273, D00276–D00278, D00311).
