The sketches on this page are inverted relative to the foliation. They continue on the opposite page, folio 4 verso (D35341), depicting sections of a cliff coastline. Turner has employed various hatching techniques here to jot down differentiations in the form and texture of the cliff faces. There may be a brief inscription above the second drawing from the top.
Technical notes:
The white chalk described in the entry for folio 4 verso (D35341) has offset faintly onto the page.
