Rendered with the sketchbook turned upside down, this sketch is part of a view of hillside and a town which continues onto the folio opposite (Tate D30895; Turner Bequest CCCVI 5a). The location is most likely Saxon Switzerland. Turner has inscribed ‘Albrechtsburg’ ‘Slope’, ‘M[...]’ at the rear of the view.
