Produced with the sketchbook turned upside down, these rough sketches show Schloss Weesenstein, a castle in the Mueglitz Valley south of Dresden (see Tate D30901–D30916; Turner Bequest CCCVI 9a–17). Turner may have drawn these sketches from a moving carriage.
