Turner’s view of Carisbrooke Castle, Isle of Wight (Carisbrooke Castle collection),1 engraved by C. Westwood in 1830 for the Picturesque Views in England and Wales, shows the gatehouse from the opposite side of the bridge, but relies heavily on this drawing for the detail of the building. See also folios 24 recto and 25 recto (D00431, D00432).
