A watercolour based on this study is in the collection of King’s College, Cambridge.1 A view of King’s College, Cambridge, 235 x 311 mm, signed lower right and dated 1795, was with Christie’s, London, in October 2007.
Further studies of the Chapel are Tate D00371 (Turner Bequest XXII R), and Tate D40237 (Turner Bequest XXII Aa); like the present subject, the latter was to be the basis of a work commissioned by Mr Lyte; see the inscription on the verso (D40271).
