With the sketchbook turned upside town, Turner depicts a scene at Bruges from the Quai du Rosaire (Rozenhoedkaai). The Belfry and Basillica of the Holy Blood can be seen at left, while the Hôtel de Ville (Stadhuis) is visible at right.
