It is not certain whether this old woman, drawn with the page turned horizontally, is the same as that in the more summary sketch on folio 12 recto (D02478). No context is indicated for the present figure, but the other seems to be in a rural setting. There is no evidence that these old women were observed among the crowds in the busy town that Turner has drawn on folio 13 recto (D02479).
