To judge by the design of its tower this church is probably in the London area or Kent. The building studied on the verso (D40257) is presumably the same church, but it has a row of striking gabled windows on its north side which seem to have little connection with the very plain south side. A study of a wall monument (Tate D01889; Turner Bequest XLIV M), may have been made in this church.
