Like the drawing on folio 24 recto (D00231; Turner Bequest XIX 23), this is probably a view on the River Derwent, in Matlock Dale, Derbyshire. The influence of Thomas Rowlandson’s (1756–1827) draughtsmanship seems particularly strong in this drawing.

Blank; stamped in black ink with Turner Bequest monogram bottom left.
