A finished watercolour (private collection)1 depends on this study for the landscape and on Tate D02385 (Turner Bequest LI R) for the architecture. This sheet was originally joined to Tate D02387 (Turner Bequest LI T). The support is an unidentified, probably French paper of about 1780;2 see also Tate D17202 (Turner Bequest CXCVII L).
There are colour trials along the bottom edge.
