Henry Moore: Sculptural Process and Public Identity

In 1978 Henry Moore gave the Tate Gallery a gift of thirty-six sculptures in bronze, plaster and marble. Four of the large-scale sculptures included in the gift were installed in the Tate Gallery garden as part of the exhibition held in July–August to celebrate Henry Moore’s eightieth birthday. This photograph shows Two Piece Reclining Figure No.5 1963–4 (Tate T02294) being positioned. The body section of the sculpture is in place, while the leg section is suspended from a crane.
