Senga Nengudi Remembers the JAM Art Gallery

Senga Nengudi is an African-American visual artist best known for her abstract sculptures that combine found objects and choreographed performance. Linda Goode Bryant is an American documentary filmmaker and the founding director of Just Above Midtown (JAM) the first gallery space to exhibit the work of African-American artists and other artists of colour in a major gallery district.

In this film Senga and Linda remember the many obstacles and struggles faced by the African-American artistic community which led to the foundation of the ground-breaking institution.
