This film explores Josef Herman's unique relationship as a Jewish refugee artist with the mining town of Ystradgynlais, South Wales. His son David and residents of the town reflect on this relationship with the peple and culture of the area in the 1940s and 50s, examining photographs, notes, sketches and paintings from Tate Archive and the Josef Herman Art Foundation Cymru.
