This film examines the Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Records, her unique documentation detailing aspects of every sculpture she made, from materials and processes used to the different planning phases for public commissions. Combined with her personal correspondence, which is also in Tate Archive, we see how these sculpture records present an insight into her personality and ideas as they developed through her lifetime.
Dame Barbara Hepworth (1903-75) is a British sculptor and is widely recognised as one of the pre-eminent artists of the 20th century.
