Raw Canvas is a youth initiative, for young people aged 15-23, that offers another perspective on modern and contemporary art. Participants are invited to draw on their personal experience and knowledge when thinking about and interpreting works of art.
Project aims
Through a variety of free workshops and art-related events, the programme seeks to:
- Bridge the gap between the school trip and the independent visit to art galleries
- Enable young people to understand all this art malarkey by giving them the opportunity to have a voice and make their own conclusions about Modern Art
- Establish a young, confident and informed art-gallery audience.
