Summaries provide core information on artworks and, in the case of some new acquisitions, are often the first texts to be published about the works in question. They aim to address the fundamental aspects of artworks, including their appearance and materials, and explore the artist’s intentions, the works’ subject matter and reception. As such, they are particularly useful for the general public and specialists alike.
