Sea Fever Surf Art Project - St Ives

This project looked at creating discussions, ideas and images related to art, surf and beach culture. A range of activities and workshops took place. Colin Wilson (Head of the British Surfing Association) demonstrated the art of making a surfboard and a group of young people were invited to decorate a Tate St Ives surfboard. They toured the gallery looking at the works on display and made interpretative sketches which were transferred on to surfboard templates. One of the images was chosen to be painted on the bottom of the board by the whole group.
