Katie's work is based on culture, society, media & identity. Living in a media led and image obsessed society, Katie seeks out the individuals that do not conform to the artificial images and values projected onto them by the mass-media. She aims to portray not just individual identities and how her subjects perceive and differentiate themselves from others, but how they also communicate and relate to others through their appearance within their society.
