You are invited to join in and celebrate gender diversity with artist Linda Stupart by exploring the Tate collection with the paper-based activity A is for Alien and using materials and making to add to the I WANT TO SHOW YOU A BODY display.
The workshop is hosted in the I WANT TO SHOW YOU A BODY residency space where ideas have been accumulating through conversation and making over many weeks, with contributions from young transgender people and the general public.
The workshop will include performances by artists Daniel Brathwaite-Shirley, Ray Filar and Linda Stupart.
Open to all ages and abilities. We particularly encourage young transgender people and their families to join.
I WANT TO SHOW YOU A BODY was developed by artist Linda Stupart in collaboration with the Tate’s Schools & Teachers team and Gendered Intelligence, an organisation committed to increasing understanding of gender diversity. Gendered Intelligence’s vision is of a world where people are no longer constrained by narrow perceptions and expectations of gender behaviour. The aim of I WANT TO SHOW YOU A BODY is to bring that world closer.
