This illustrated talk is given by the Senior Conservation Scientist for Tate, Joyce Townsend. The talk introduces Turner's work in the Tate Collection through the process of conservation, giving an insight into the artist's working methods. Townsend has published widely on the conservation of Turner's work including Turner's Painting Techniques (Tate Publishing).
