Tate Talk At UCF
Ysanne Holt

Tuesday 17 March 2009, 18.00–19.00

Ysanne Holt, Senior Lecturer in Art History at the University of Northumbria considers Ben Nicholson's paintings of the 1920s in relation to renewed popular and artistic engagements with landscape, following the end of the Great War, and the imaginative geographies developed as the decade progressed. Holt will explore themes of locality and region: margins and peripheries, perceptions of landscape as sites of contemplation and physical immersion.
