Liverpool John Moores University: Artist Teacher MA

The Artist Teacher MA is a response to the changing nature of the disciplines of art, design, craft, art history and theory that have occurred since many teachers gained their initial qualifications. These changes have been pronounced in the fields of gallery study, critical theory and the impact of new technologies. Initiated in 2000, the MA programme addresses the wide spread needs of teachers regaining their professional practice as artists.

The Liverpool Artist Teachers Scheme and MA Programme is delivered by a partnership between Tate Liverpool, Foundation for Art & Creative Technology (FACT) the School of Education and Liverpool Art School at John Moores University. A key feature of the programme is the contact and dialogue it facilitates between teachers, professional artists, curators and educators through critical engagement with contemporary practice and theory.
