Getty Grant for Collection Research Project

5 May 2009

The Getty Foundation has awarded Tate a grant of £137,800 as part of its new Online Scholarly Cataloguing Initiative.

This initiative, which currently involves only a small number of institutions, aims to create replicable models of online museum scholarship, with the goal of furthering electronic dissemination of collection research in the future.

Tate is committed to publishing research on its collection online, and has already begun to do so through the Turner cataloguing project. We shall use this grant to prepare the way for publishing research about Tate's holdings of the Camden Town Group, while further developing the software and methodology that will support future collection research projects.
