turbinegeneration is a way in which schools can share ideas through a variety of media, from photography, sound, video and dance, to drama and oral stories. The aim is to enhance student understanding of the world by encouraging interaction and collaboration through contemporary art.
It also encourages students to consider art in the context of literacy, geography, social studies, history and technology.
There are three ways in which schools can be involved:
1. Use the creative activities suggested on this site for your own projects (step one).
2. Ask Tate to partner you with another school so you can create work together (steps one and two). Complete the Join Us application form.
3. Tate will partner you with another school and you will receive help from a gallery or cultural institution in your country (a hub gallery). We have already chosen the schools that are involved in 2008/09 - we are working with five countries: China [中文], Greece [Ελληνικα], Colombia [Español], Russia [Pусский] and the UK. Our aim is to add new countries each year that the project runs.
If you are interested in joining at Level 3 in a future year, fill out our application form.
