Martin Kippenberger
Curator's Talk

Friday 24 February 2006, 18.30–19.30

Tate Modern’s Martin Kippenberger exhibition is the first time that the work of this incomparable, and yet widely influential artist, has been seen in-depth in this country. Kippenberger revitalised painting and gave Pop Art a Dadaist counter-cultural bite.

The show’s curator, Jessica Morgan, discusses key sources and themes in the artist’s practice, the contexts in which it evolved, and what has made Kippenberger almost a cult figure for a new generation of artists working today.
